Pedagogy Principle #3-People

As a teacher I am conducting myself in the service industry. I am not serving, but facilitating a glint in the morning, a team in the early afternoon and then a troop before the bus. The students keep the same name throughout the day, but "Johnny" in the morning, may not be same one that gets on the bus at the end of the day. Students are people and experience a number of events in a day, to work with anyone for a month or more consecutively, it is common knowledge that there will be a change in that person (for better or worse). Our students need us to remember, they are people, they are changing everyday, we cannot expect that they want to do the same activity everyday or that they will always be a student who has difficulties paying attention in class, we need to offer them opportunities.
